Direct debit payment date

Hi all,

I set up a Direct Debit to be paid today, 20th sept, from my current account to my savings account. Nothing has come out of my current account or gone into my savings account today but when I look at the next payment date on the list of direct debits it says 20th October.

Is the actual transfer of money being delayed until Monday, what with today being a Saturday? Or has it just skipped to next month and missed this payment with it being a 'non-working day'?

They either take the money out on the Friday or on the Monday.

You need to read the direct debit permission slip that you signed or agreed to. Some of them say "around" the agreed date and others say "after" the agreed date.
