Hi,
(I'm mostly on comp board, so please cope with me
)
Well I'm thinking of getting a iPhone or a iPhone 3G.
I own a iPod Touch 8GB (1st Gen) Already
In UK - iPhone 3G is £349 for 8GB (The one I want)
and the orginal is around £100-£200 on ebay.
I was wondering if Techys that have the 3G think it is better than the 2G and give me reasons :A
If you could I'll be very greatful
Thanks,

Defo the Iphone 3G i've owned both and i can honestly the Iphone 3G is alot better......the 3G bit alone makes a big difference....And the GPS function is actually very useful when you realise what you can do with it
Also with O2 (contract) you get free internet via 3G...The Cloud wireless networks and BT openzone
However i can't see anywhere that it says you get that on the PAYG tariffs so if it is PAYG your after be careful with the internet charges when using 3G
I feel this is where many PAYG people will get caught out if that is the case as the Iphone uses the internet for many apps(UPDATE you do get free internet for 12 months it says on PAYG tariffs)
At the moment i know you can jailbreak the new Iphones (add non apple apps) however i don't think you can activate the phone with another service provider other than o2 in the UK (old iphone you could use with any network with a little knowledge)
So defo the Iphone 3GIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
Thanks both of you!
You have helped me loads0 -
I got an iPhone 3G on Pay and Go a couple of days ago.
12 months free internet (3G/GPRS) and wifi for free - no continuous topups required.
If you are going to use data you might be better off with a new iPhone 3G cos the cheapest o2 data bolt on is £7.50 a month (£90 a year). Other networks can be even higher for data.0 -
£349 seems a bit steep though
I don't know if I can spend that much :rotfl:0 -
There's always the iPod Touch. It's just like an iPhone without the phone.
It's just had a price drop too.0 -
I have the 1st Gen one, Thinking of upgrading to the new one, but thought:
Why not spend a bit more and get a phone too?0 -
Well the 8GB Touch is now £169, so if you got an iPhone 3G you'd be spending quite a lot more than "a bit".
Though the new Touch doesn't really do much more than the one you have now.
I'm thinking of "downsizing" and just getting a Nano.0 -
New iPod -Just volume and speaker really
iPhone 3g is for me0 -
Fair enough, all the best with it.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it!0
