Looking for cheap car covers
Hi all!
I knows its bad to be thinking of winter on a lovely day like today.
But having just moved to the north of Scotland I am worried about my car over the winter (and also how much money I'll have to spend on di-icer!!)
So I was just wondering if anyone knows of a website were I could buy cheap car covers ?? (the hubby needs one too).
Thanks, Simone

dont get a cheap car cover whatever you do...it will ruin the paint
decent covers are breathable , but still need to only be used on spotlessly clean cars otherwise the filth will scratch the paint badly
all the ones ive seen suggest not using them in icy conditions as the cover will stick and possibly yank some paint off0 -
Cheap = rubbish. You need decent breathable ones.
Have a look here: http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=16486&cat=254&page=1
Get the Monsoon range. Should be sorted for under £150.0 -
I would have to agree with the above. A friend of mine got a cheap one for his bmw and after he took the cover off it was scratch city:eek:
Had to get a detailer out in the end to remove all the scratches and it cost him almost £300.
If you really need one of these I would be spending at least £150 for a decent one that won't damage your paintwork."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

Is the car going to be used daily?
No point in putting a cover over a car covered in salt0 -
It may be better giving the car a good wash, polish and then wax the car with something like collinite 476s, which can last up to 6 months and should protect the paintwork over the winter months. Ideally you would want two coats."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

No point in putting a cover over a car covered in salt
no point at all....will just chafe all the mud n salt all over the paint
i bought a cover a few years back...hardly ever use it unless the car is perfectly clean.
theyre also a pain to store away if the cover got wet overnight0 -
If it's a car you're not worried about getting scratched etc (i.e. the cover is for convenience of not clearing snow/ice) then Argos used to do them and probably still do. A tarpauline (sp?) will do the job just as well too if you're not worried about the car getting damaged.
Just remember that an outdoor cover will move with the wind, and when the material is hard/rough, it will more often than not scratch the paint.0 -
How many car covers do you see daily near where you live?
In my case, zero.0
