Afternoon all,
Sorry if this topic has been covered - but ive not be able to find it.
Has anyone switched to tesco's talk 1 pay as you go land line plan?
There is a code knocking about for 2000 point if you switch, plus there is cash back going from the usual suspects :-) im just not sure how i would be effected,im on option 1 with BT,and get my b/band through them.My bill for actual calls is very low,the bulk of it is made up of line rental and b/band charges.
Anyone any idea if it would be worth me switching, and how it would effect my b/band.

I won't affect your broadband and provided you keep your line rental with BT you can then actually use https://www.call1899.co.uk for the calls you actually make at 0p per minute and a 3p connection charge.

You'd then pay 3p per call during the day (as opposed to 3p per minute on BT or 2.5p per minute on Tesco Talk 1 PAYG.
You'd also pay 3p per call during the evening and at weekends (as opposed to 5.5p per call on BT or 4.5p per call on Tesco Talk 1 PAYG).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I signed up for Tesco's pay as you CPS go a few months ago to get my bonus points which were very usseful once converted into £80 Tesco Clubcard Deals tokens. I persuaded two others to sign up too so we get free calls to each other. All three of us got the bonus points, but two of us had to hassle Tesco Clubcard for them. The other person not only got the points but got them at least a month early (the offer I signed up for was for 2000 bonus points 3 months from connection).
I don't actually use Tesco Home Phone other than for free calls to others who use it. I haven't had the need for their DQ service either which is free to members. I have been using 18866 (not anymore), 1899 and 18185 for my calls so the only ones charged to Tesco were for a destination not covered by the others and for the initial call home from my Orchid Dialler.
Now that I've got my points, I'm tempted to switch to Primus to get the free evening and weekend geo calls instead of the free anytime calls to other Tesco Home Phone customers.
Re broadband - it didn't affect anything. It only affects who the default carrier for voice calls is.0 -
Thanks for the info guys, ive just signed up for the points and got £25 off quidco too - not bad for a few minutes work :-)
Im going to sign up with 1899 now for even more savings.0
