Smeg Dishwasher

Hi,

I've had the Smeg or should I say Spiegel for about 5 years. It's not been right for quite some time.

It works when it wants to! You click the control on and it doesn't move, so you end up moving it continually every now and then. Sometimes it works all by itself, othertimes it needs persuasion. Sometimes, it doesn't empty the water out, other times it doesn't drop the cleaner...

Anyone else had this problem with a Smeg?

I have Smeg too and had problems. Looked inside and can say that quality of electronics is very poor, especially quality of cable connectors.

Hi,

I'm getting to the point where I want to ditch it but its hard when it looks shiny and new and every blue moon it works properly!

One thing I have noticed is that my electricity bill is now higher than the gas for the first time ever and I think the dishwasher getting stuck has done this.

Hi,

Well my partner has had enough of the Smeg and its a gonna now.

Ordered a Bosch SGS45E68 from Comet on-line at the best internet price of £337.49 with 10 free rental DVD's which will come in nicely for Xmas period. I saw the Bosch in the Comet shop and it looked good, sadly it wasn't stainless steel like the Smeg but the Smeg looked good and solid but didn't perform.

I did read up a lot on dishwashers and Bosch was coming out well so I hope this model will be good. Just got to handwash until delivery...
