hi just returned from my holidays to have lots of items stolen from my house i left my brother with my keys to look after the house he had a few friends around for drinks and they all went home but one who stole all my belongings my brother had fallen asleep.the person who done this crashed his car with my belongings inside unfortunatly the car went on fire and he fled but all my things were still in the car he has been caught and charged!but what the police recovered they brought to me the police took note of what was recovered my partner has dealt with everything giving statements as i had to go back straight to work do i have to contact the police as the insurance is in my name ? we live together so i did not think this would be a problem...i have called the insurance and they are sending someone from uk assistance to come and see me as the claim is for £9000 i have since chucked everything out as it was ruined should i have kept any of it ? sorry for all the questions im still really upset and really unsure if my claim will even be paid out.
Do you have any proof the stolen items actually existed and belonged to you?
If the answers no and the insurers dont believe you then your in the crap

Do you have the receipts from when you bought all the stuff? The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.0
