Playtvps3

Options
Hiya
Anyone got one of these and if so how did you connect it all up?

Problem I have getting my head around the fact that the manual says it takes only 4 mins to set up with the USB cable supplied, but you also have to connect an RF cable from the aerial to the playtv receiver, thats not a 4 min job, I am really annoyed by this as I had already asked GAME if I needed any extras and they said just connect and go!
Not up to climbing on the roof myself so will have to pay through the nose for aerial chap to do it.
On the other hand , could I use a splitter to connect to the existing aerial connector in the TV then plug into the playtv?
Confused, yes I am!

    Alternatively...

Unplug the TV aierial from the back of the telly and plug it into the PS3. Then use the PS3 to watch live TV.

Splitters SPLIT the signal. So split into 2 would half the signal strength. If possible (Most tvs dont I admit) you could do with going into your tv and back OUT the tv into your PLAY box.
Alternatively your going to HAVE to use a splitter

I've just got one & i'm going to try a signal booster on mine as it doesn't pick up as many channels as my Samsung built-in tuner but the picture on the channels i get with it are great.
What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!

I would recommend that if you ARE to use a booster, then get one with 2 aerials OUT (The less splits in the cable the better) and do away with the splitter your using now

    Hi,
Either unplug your aerial from the back of your tv and plug it into the play tv unit or if you don't want to always use the ps3 to watch tv, buy an aerial splitter. It's dead easy. The playtv is great! I didn't notice any loss of quality with the splitter. :rotfl:

    Thanks everyone for those options.
What I did do is to plug the TV aerial into the playtv and it works perfectly. The picture is amazing , I am very happy with it.
    One thing I would like advice on is;
Whilst a game I am playing is in the pause menu, how do I get back to Playtv quickly, I did do it but found it rather long winded, I feel there must be a quicker way but cant find anything in the manual or on the disc.
Have you found out how to do it? Please share. Thanks.

    Hi

If you press the ps button then move along and select playtv. It does take a minute or so to load back up but as far as I'm aware that's the only way of moving between the 2.
