Hi,
I am receiving income based jobseekers and I have a small pension which is deducted from it, but I am unsure if it should be deducted net or gross?
I would be grateful if anyone could tell me. Thanks

All benefits, except those administered by Tax credits, use your net pay in their calculations so I would imagine this would be the same for your pension.
JulesDebt at highest May 04 - £65,639.22 - Started DMP with CCCS 1st June 04 & now self managed DMPDebt now 20th December 2015 £31677.13 Paid Off to date £33962.09 - just not going quickly enough!
Debt free date July 2024! I don't think so, it'll be going quicker than that!!!

Thanks for that Jules.
I thought that was the case, so I will have to get in touch with them as they have deducted gross.

Keep copies of the Bank statements and payment slips and take these with you. It should be simple to sort out if gross has been taken.0

If it's a small pension, won't net and gross be the same?0

Hi Oldernotwiser,
Thanks for your reply.
Even though a small pension, I receive an amount after tax has been deducted. So surely when the jobseeker money is worked out it should only be deducted by the money I receive not the amount including the tax.
Am I right in thinking this?
