IPOD Nano problem

My son has a 1g Ipod Nano. My daughter was using it recently and, according to my son she has "changed the numbers" and he can't use it. Has anyone else encountered anything like this and if so is there an easy way to reset?
He is now demanding that she buy him a new one! At only 8 her pocket money doesn't go that far...
All help gratefully received. it will be your good deed for the day as I suspect threats of repercussions will soon follow....

In what way does it no longer work? Has she changed the combination of the screen lock?
If so, plugging it back into the computer should unlock it.0 -
