HSBC Credit Card, impossible to make a claim?

While on holiday in Sri Lanka my wife bought something using her credit card for £10 but was charged £87. She didn't even sign the slip, they put it through without a signature!

We complained to HSBC + they sent her a copy of the slip still unsigned but with some extra digits added since we saw it last.

So we asked to claim and sent all the info HSBC asked for. A couple of weeks later we heard back:

"As we haven't heard from you we assume the matter is resolved".

We've called them a number of times now and sent everything they want but we just get this same letter every time. What else can we do? Take HSBC to the small claims court?

We're sick of wasting our time with them now, has anybody actually managed to get money back from HSBC?
