Sourthern Electric - seperate bills for gas and electric

Options
I'm with Southern Electric and I get my gas and electric through them, but both bills come separately and have different account numbers.

Would it be cheaper if the bills came together and were on the same account, is that what the whole duel fuel thing is about?

Thanks for helping a newb!

It may be cheaper to send in one envelope, but not for you, just the shareholders

It seems common practice, guess it saves unravelling it all if a switch of say gas only is made to another supplier

Even worse is the inability with some suppliers to pay a single Direct Debit for dual fuel.

I have 4 accounts with BG, gas and electricity in the house and the same in an annex. The annex is little used.

I have to pay 4 seperate DDs. On the annex the minimum the BG computer system can now allow is £5 monthly. Unless I pay by DD I lose the DD discount.
