bank of scotland overdraft mistake

This happened a few weeks ago, Im a student and asked for my overdraft to be increased to £800 which they agreed. Anyway during this time I had my statement sent out and was shocked to see that my limit was £35000! I was confused but ignored it thinking it was a typing error.

I went to take some cash out and noticed that I had loads available.

I phoned up and double checked my limit and they said £35000 and I giggled and said thanks for telling me.

I waited a few days and told them, I never would have used it as I would be worried about paying it back.

But now its worked against me as they have reduced my overdraft to £0 and sent me loads of unpaid fees, unauthorised overdraft, unpaid direct debit etc and are rude and say there is no record of me having a £800 overdraft or in fact any overdraft and expect it paid within a short period or say they will take me to court!

Im a student and my loans late as it is so have £0 money for food, rent and electric till its sorted.

What can I do?

If you have the statement showing the larger amount then tell them that you have not exceeded your limit and that they better sort this out asap.
Go to a branch and confront someone - they don't like being confronted.

I have had many bank accounts over the years with many banks and interestingly (or not) the only one I ever had an issue with was BoS (no H in those days)
They charged me twice for a car loan I had.
I got a letter of explanation but never one of apology and have avoided them ever since.

Well I hope to god you have this statement still! march into the bank and ask to see the manager, along with a letter asking for you to pay fines etc!
