Help with zip-win and a patch??

Options
I have an old CDROM-Disney's Magic Artist Studio which was for Windows ME, am now running XP and the I keep getting an error message-'DMA.exe has encountered a problem & needs to close'

I've googled and found a 'patch', but when I double click on the downloaded file, I just get the following text appear:

Installation
1. On your screen, double-click the Disney.exe file that you have downloaded.
2. In the Win-Zip Self-Extractor window, click Unzip to expand the files to C:\Cabs\7512455. In the 2 file(s) unzipped dialog box, click OK.
3. Close all open programs.
4. On the Start menu, click Run. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\7512455. Click OK.
5. In the Disney dialog box, double-click DMASUpdate.exe.
6. In the Information dialog box, click OK.
7. In the Information dialog box, click OK.

8. Open Disney's Magic Artist Studio and check for the issue.

Am I clicking on the wrong file? I also downloaded win-zip and tried to use this program to run the above mentioned 7512455.exe file, but then got an error message stateing that the file wasn't a zip file???

Can anyone help me??

Thank you

You don't need WinZip to open a self-extracting archive.

The first 3 steps seem to have worked, as you have a file called 7512455.exe, but you seem to be getting step 4 wrong. Use the Windows Start menu, choose Run... and type in what the instructions say. You could achieve the same effect by double-clicking on the file c:\cabs\7512455.exe

Hopefully you downloaded this "patch" from a website that you know and trust? Downloading and executing files like this from an untrusted source is a sure way to get infected with viruses/malware.

Hi, I did lots of research on this, and many other users got their patch from this source, so I am confident it is OK.
I follow the above instructions, and get to No. 6, but there is no 'information dialogue box'?

    Any ideas?
