do you live in the south? round here for a jill its about £45 to spay a female and £35 for a male. I live in the north west.

Join a local ferret society. Most of them have links with vetinary practices and can get you a discounted rate. Only try and use vets who regularly deal with ferrets as they can be quite temporomental under anaesthetic. You should be able to get a ferret vet to spay a jill for under £50.

Nope, I'm in Scotland. Wondering if I got that price because it was a city vet. Have been recommended another vet, will try them. Yeah, Tigger I heard about the anaesthetic, was sort of wondering if that was why they were so pricey...not that they aren't worth every penny, the little terrors Just I sort of passed out at the price! Will have a look for local societies, thanks!

Yep, spaying is always more expensive, because it's more intrusive.
