how to do reformat with windows vista?

i just got a laptop with vista premium on it , i want to reformat it back to factory settings but dont have a clue :rolleyes:
i have a driver disc but thats all.
Is it even possible with windows vista?

    yes its new, i dont have a recovery disc, recovery partition..er whats that? :o
    and instructions..yes but cant find anything about reformatting
  • Try to boot the computer with the provided disk in the drive. If it is a recovery disk it will reinstall the operating system from there.

    You may need to set the boot order in the bios so that the system checks the cd drive as the system starts. you can normally enter the bios using f2 or del as soon as the system starts. in the advanced options set the first boot device to cd and the second to hdd.

    If the disk isnt the right one it wont cause any damage. but you will need to get hold of a proper vista install disk. your key should be on a label on the underside of the laptop.
