..and presumably posting over a 100 times makes you a 'tree'?
Gold funds are not good since they have too much noise of a stock market and a higher 'beta'.
Looking for something independent of the vagaries of the stock markets.
For that worst case scenario - Having a small portion of the asset portfolio in physical gold seems a good option.
..and I promise I wont come after your box Brian

I am not feeling paranoid at the moment & may want to trust Gold ETFs, Gold derivatives, Bullion Vault and other "simpler" ways of gaining exposure to gold... however, I am thinking in these uncertain times, nothing beats having gold under the mattress..
But I'd rather keep the Gold in a safe deposit locker somewhere rather than under my mattress.
I cannot find any bank offering a safe deposit locker scheme in London - atleast its not advertised anywhere..
Do anyone know where I can securely store physical gold once I buy it?
Thanks
I can think of lots of places to store gold safely ...and a bank or any safety deposit box is not one of them.
Only a fool would trust a bank/safety deposit box as a place to safely store anything of value.
