connecting a laptop to my livebox help

Can anyone help.

I have an orange livebox which works fine on my p.c but my daughter would like to use my internet connection for her laptop.

Her laptop will connect fine to next doors internet but will not to the orange livebox.
When searching for internet connections available there is a red cross next the the live box. It says that the settings do not match or something like that .

Can anyone advise what the problem is and how to sort it out

All explained on the Orange broadband support website. Have you pressed the pairing button to allow the laptop to connect?

Thanks kindly for the advice. Still no joy, Could it be that my computer is too old ( 6/7 years).

As far as its concerned wireless doesn't exist. I updated xp service pack 3 but this hasn't helped.

If that is the case then at least I can stop trying

No the age should not matter if you are running XP SP3. You won't "see" the Livebox unless you have your wireless enabled e.g. switched on.
