Calais Restaurants??

Options
I know that somewhere buried within this area are some suggestions of good places to eat in or near Calais but I cannot find them - sorry.

Could anyone suggest a nice place to eat at lunch-time either in the town or in a nearby village/town? It would be on a Monday, which may make a difference.

Many thanks.

Yes, I can highly recommend 'A Cote De L'Argent' or spelt something like that! Super food, far enough away from the hypermarkets to get proper french cuisine and a super view of the sea.

If you fancy something a bit different, you could always drive out to the Auchan complex opposite Citeeurope, where Oddbins are, and try the "Buffalo Grill." Yes, they really do bison burgers and steaks, amongst other, normal beef thingys. Much lower in chloresterol, even if not exactly health food!

Thanks for all these - are off tomorrow and will report back. Not booked so taking pot luck.......
Last minute ideas gratefully received as the thought of the supermarkets might well keep us in the restaurant for longer.......

All on board for a gourmet voyage with a fish and seafood flavour. A ship's cabin decor with a view of the busy ferry traffic in the background.
This info comes from the latest Michelin. It is recommended as a "good food at moderate prices" option. We have been there and can also recommend it. Unfortunately, it is closed on Mondays.... save it for some other time!

Ended up in the The Charles and managed a very pleasant 2 hours away from the traffic & parking chaos of Cite Europe etc. Reasonable prices and very friendly staff/owners.
  • Assuming you've got a car, simply take the coast road and drive toward Boulogne.

You'll find a couple of villages each with it's own selection of decent Restaurants.

Try any, reasonable prices, good service, interesting menus, always something better than Calais.
