Atlantic E & G 13 month refund. Beware.

I moved to Atlantic E & G in May of last year. Their welcoming letter promised a refund of one months payments after I had been with them for 13 months. This would be paid directly into my bank account. "You needn't make a claim or remember to do anything -- simply leave it to us!" they said.
Thirteen months came and went -- no refund. When it reached 16 months and I still hadn't received the promised refund I decided it was time to start asking questions. I phoned them this morning to be told that, due to problems, they are no longer in a position to make the refunds automatically and are having to wait until customers contact them. !!!???
Thank goodness I didn't rely on their promise.
They have now told me that the refund will be in my bank account within the next three or four days, together with a small additional sum as compensation.
The moral of this story is -- Check --- Don't take them at their word. You do need to remember. You do need to claim. Don't simply leave it up to them.
Apart from that they've been very good to deal with.

If the rebate comes out of my account after 13 months , i think i would probably be on the phone quite soon...:D0 -
