longest current 0% for purchases

Options
Hi you lot, I am going to try and do a bit of this stoozing lark and would like to sign up for a credit card at 0%. The Capital one deal Martin talks about doesn't last 15 months now, in fact it's oct 09 so about 1 year.

Are there any other offers I have missed or in your experience do you think capital one will bring out a new 15 month period next month for example.

Any pointers gratefully received!

  • You can get 13 months on Capital One (with an end of month statement date), but it does require an "excellent credit rating"...as defined by Capital One.

The Barclaycard Breathe card has 12 months 0% on purchases.

It is possible but Capital One actually recently reduced the length of this promotion from November 2009 to October 2009.

Would appear that barclays breathe is not 0% on purchases only on transfers, perhaps it recently changed.

the link if you scroll down shows all the barclay cards, so i guess it depends on what link you use.

    Indeed it does.

You possibly accessed the card offers through the www.barclays.co.uk website (hence the "barclays_landing" in the url), or some other third-party website?

I accessed the card offers from www.barclaycard.co.uk
  • Watch with Capital One....

I tried to apply at the start of the week and at the point where they give their decision the system played up and I was left hanging, so didn't know if it had been accepted, nor did I get any email from them.

A few days later I received an acceptance form from them. However they only offered me their classic card which is only interest free until 1st Feb not Oct...then a much higher interest rate than the other card, despite me being able to answer yes to their "excellent" credit rating questions before I applied and having a very good credit rating... I use my cards then pay them off each month and never late.

I've not decided whether to accept this card and just sign the form, part of me says well its been offered may as well use it... but then I think... that's what they're hoping for, in offering a lesser card, that people will just accept it and use it anyway.
