Parking in Birmingham
The wife and I are going to Birmingham this Saturday and staying overnight in the Days Inn (Mailbox).
However I see that the NCP carpark next to the mailbox is £16 for 24 hours, does anyone have any moneysaving suggestions or tips please ?
Any food suggestions for central Birmingham would also be welcome
Thanks all in advance

Check with the hotel and see if they'll validate your parking for you - so it doen't cost anything?
Food suggestions - well it is the balti capital of the UK - LOL
I can seriously recommend Wagamama behind the new Bullring - fantastic food!! Or hit the food hall in Selfrdsges - spoilt for choice in there.
If you do want a curry, I can recommend Shimla Pinks in Broad St - went there NYE and the food is brilliant
.
Loads of other food options on Broad St and right up the top and around the corner is an Outback - Aussies style fare - they usually have money off coupons on the website.Noli nothis permittere te terere

I work in the Mailbox - the car park is a virtual monopoly in the area. There's small operators overnight for 3 quid or so, but would you trust leaving your car on wasteland?
Another option is parking on a meter - these are free in Brum from 6pm - 8am, and all day Sunday IIRC. There's loads of meter spaces in the streets south of Days Inn.0 -
Thanks Martin,
I'm being tight. The Days Inn stay is a freebee anyways, and the extra tenner for a feeling of more car security is worth it.
Will move the car out to a metered space (South of the Mailbox I believe is towards the Chinese roundabout) on Sunday. For the wife to go back to the first shop we went to on Saturday to get the shoes/dress/coat/blouse/skirt/etc she was umming and aaaring about but now she NEEDS. Thank heavens there’s a Wetherspoons opposite the Next outlet shop
