Bradford & Bingley

Are Bradford and Bingley having problems? Was told not to touch them. Would use their e saver account.

I have the max amount which is protected by the fsa or whatever they are called. I have recently removed all excess deposits out and into the Northern Rock until the financial sector settles down. They have one of the best online accounts around and dead easy to operate. Once I am assured all is safe and settled down I will be moving dosh back to them. According to the CEO's office they have over 52billion in assetts and are financially secure to weather this storm, but didn't HBOS say this at the begining of the week icon_lol.gif
Liquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants
  • Thanks, I am trying to find a safe place for about 6 months or so for approx. £190K. I don't mean to sound flippant. Obviously I would like to make something on it and would like to use it to by a property instead of paying rent, so I may use it before 6 months. What do you think abut Kaupthing Edge?

Thats a lot of money to put into one account if you ask me. For peace of mind either spread it around in 35K lumps or put it all in the Northern Rock account which is 100% secure. That amount would get you after tax £741 a month in interest

No need. The government will bail out any failing bank as they did Northern Rock. That set a precedent. Go for the best interest rate
  • To spread it around, how about Kaupthing, Icesave, ING, Bradford & Bingley, West Bromich and Intelligent Finance, put about £33k in each.
