Hi, my parents live in Florida and have the bill mailed to them direct from the UK, think my Dad pays with a standing order/direct debit but I know he has had it for nearly 25 years. HTH

  • Presuming you have sufficient credit rating to actually obtain a UK credit card, any that can be maintained online should suffice.

Which brings the issue down to - and I'm presuming you'll be wanting to use it in the US as well - exchange rates and fees, which means any of the ones recommended for those going on holiday, namely:

    Nationwide
    Abbey Zero
    Post office
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
  • You need to be aware that the IRS routinely audit tax returns for US residents with foreign credit cards.

You would therefore need to ensure that you are reporting your UK income, bank accounts, pensions, investments etc to the IRS.
  • Thanks for the responses, don't have the answers as I'm investigating for a friend, but will ask the questions and maybe move on from there. I don't know whether they are on the electoral roll, however, they pay council tax for the property so imagine they would, but can't confirm.
