I think I'd just be concerned if the donator had any medical issues or about what they were eating, as surely that effects the milk.

I wouldn't want my baby (if i ever can afford to have one) suckling on someone elses nipples if I was unable to breastfeed for some reason, so it would have to be pumped and bottled.

i was just wondering how the men who order the breast milk know its real?
couldnt you just put some semi skimmed milk and abit of sugar in a bottle and say it was?
    how do they really know?

send them some Aptamil!!! It could be like the fake viagra scam where all the customers are too embarrassed to complain about being ripped off...
  • I find it a bit low rent to do that when there are really sick babies who could use this milk

The article about the woman selling it - the issue I have is that her partner sucks on her for a certain period of time, that is revolting and very disturbing

what is revolting and disturbing about that? better than sitting expressing via a pump for hours which she was already doing anyway - the pain of engorgement has to be experienced to be fully understood

I agree, I remember the first night DS1 slept for more than 3 hours. After 6 hours I was in agony willing him to wake up:eek:. It was the irony of the situation - hurray! he's sleeping, but I was too uncomfortable to do so!
I do remember asking the midwife about donating my milk as I had loads (I would leak like crazy from the other side when ds suckled, and used a shell to catch it - a good mugfull with each feed) but she said that the local SCBU weren't interested. It was a shame to pour it away, never thought about selling it tho.

    It's only a game

Engorgement is almost as painful as child birth, Well nearly! Isn't it funny you don't really realise when its your first that if you just express it will relieve the engorgment i think I spent about a week bursting agony before eventually getting them under control not realising if i just expressed the relief would be instant!
