Credit Card Refund

Hello,
I am currently in a dispute with a hotel and I'm finding it hard to find out my rights.

During a recent stay at a hotel I was charged for the room twice on my credit card. I rang the hotel once noticing this who told me they would refund one of the debits immediately. My refund never appeared, yet my partner noticed the refund appear in his current account. My partner had only paid £6.50 on his card (which we were also charged incorrectly for), yet the hotel say they are fully compliant in refunding MY £160.00 back to the card last used on the hotel room.

Surely there must be some policy which states refunds must be made back to the card they were incorrectly charged on??

If anyone can point me in the right direction on this, please help as this was not the only mistake the hotel made during our stay and I intend to further my complaint!
