Energy helpline and Uswitch still showing old Eon prices

Hi all

I'm with Eon on their Electricity online extra saver version 5. My prices went up on 22nd Aug. I've even had a letter from Eon confirming this but yet as of tonight both Energyhelpline and Uswitch are both still quoting the pre 22nd Aug prices.

This is very misleading for anyone like me who wants to compare other tariffs with my current one These two comparison sites would have me believe I'm best off staying put when I know for a fact if they were working off the correct Eon rates there are currently cheaper products on the market.

It's now almost a month since Eon put their prices up. When are Energyhelpline and Uswitch going to acknowledge this fact??

  • I am David Losinski from Energyhelpline. As there are a number of questions about the service, Martin has given us permission to answer questions (though not plug ) on here so people are helped out more quickly.

E.ON have only recently given us and other price comparison services the updated pricing information for this tariff and a number of other EnergyOnline ExtraSaver tariffs (versions 3-7).

Now that we have received the new prices we will have them updated on the site today. We are sorry for the inconvenience that was caused in the meantime.

Strange how other comparison sites updated their databases almost a month ago! e.g. here

Perhaps you need to be more proactive.

I've just checked the Energyhelpline website again and although the unit rates have now been updated the value of the discount for my supply area is now incorrect. The total discount for the northern area should be 26% (20% saver 5 discount + 6% for paying by direct debit) until at least 1st Apr 09 but Energy Helpline now quote it as being 18.1% altogether.

Prior to updating the unit rates you had the discount correct but the rates were out of date. Now the rates have been updated but the toal value of the online discount is wrong!
