VIX strikes 42

The VIX volatility index (identifying panic and fear) struck above 42 today, while this should not be taken in isolation history tells us that it is a strong contrarian indicator of a market bottom.

    As we speak, S&P up over 3% from being well down.

    Dow move today from top to bottom = 5.7% highest move since 2002, now look at that Vix chart again, coincidence?
