Help my laptop is writing the wrong letters

Can anybody assist me mylaptop is having a nervous breakdown....:eek: for some reason when i try and use letters i u o m l k j iand number 0 if don't press the Fn key at the same time i will get different characters, e.g instead of i I get 5, instead of o I get 6, 5 instead of p I get * the only way to get the letter is to press the Fn key at the same time as the letter which is driving me crazy :mad:

If anybody can tell me how to fix this i would be forever grateful

  • hi i had this problem and found that my number lock was on.Press number lock off and should solve the problem
  • yep its the num lock. You should be able to go into BIOS of your laptop and it should tell you a way where you can have a num lock always off when you boot into windows.

    BIOS is the thing that shows when you first turn on your laptop, there a key you can press to enter the BIOS. consult your laptop manual for more about this.

    Only look into this if num lock becomes a problem.
