Funding for 'second degree' students - can I afford it?

I looked into this myself last year and was in the very lucky position of working for a university at the time so the student support unit investigated all of the financial help that would be available to me if I did another degree. In short you will not be able to get any help if your first degree has ‘honours’ as part of it. This is regardless of whether you took out a loan first time round (I never - in exactly the same boat as you commuting and working full-time while I did my full-time degree to avoid getting into debt!) You will not be entitled to anything now as you will be classed as “already having received government support to study”. Annoying I know, especially when you look at the people who took out their loans only to put them in high interest accounts and then make sure they don’t earn over £15k so they never have to pay it back.0

Trainee clinical psychologists are classified as NHS employees and have to go through occupational health before starting their training.
I have just had to have a full interview before starting my new job (newly qualified clinical psychologist) and they asked me a range of physical and mental health questions. As I understand it, if they identify risks they can make appropriate recommendations if they think yourself or others could be at risk.
That said this should not put anyone off applying for courses/ or from seeking help. I know of several trainees with long standing mental health issues that have completed their training just fine. The main thing was that their menal health problems had been resolved or were under control.
Aye - I have a nice big fat (;)) ED history and had to have a meeting with OcHealth before being able to take up my place at medical school.
However, for Clin Psych, if you have a history of schizophrenia, bipolar etc, it's pretty much a nail in the coffin... Doesn't seem that it would be an issue with the OP though.April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200
