Took out a free trial with blockbuster and canceled before the end of the trial period, yet blockbuster charged my account, emailed them to complain and demand my money back, they have since charged my account again, rung them to try an sort this but people answering phone refuse to put me through to a manager saying they can only be contacted by email. Has anyone else encountered this problem or have any advice in getting the problem rectified.

first of all you need to make sure they don't charge you again!
ring your bank and explain it to them. and e-mail blockbuster, attaching any supporting evidence you may have.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
As long as you get the DVDs back in plenty of time before the trial ends then you usually do not get charged. if you try to squeeze just one more rental from them it often means that the last disc does not get processed in time.
Over the past 5 years I've tried Video Island, Tesco, Lovefilm and Blockbuster. I've never been charged for a month that I didn't want.
I'm back with Blockbuster now. Since they don't seem to process films at weekends I've found that the last possible day for returning a film (to be absolutely sure that it will arrive before the weekend) is around Wednesday. Thursday works OK sometimes but not everytime. You have to factor this in when on a free trial and deciding how many free discs to have.
Why not just give the service another month? It is good value even if it isn't free.
What they've done to you is unfair though provided you returned the discs on time. Attach the email you got saying "thanks for returning the discs" or a screenshot of Your Account page with the relevant info and that way you'll be able to prove you are due a refund.Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0
