My usage and Eon Capped rates...

Options
hi all!!

I am currently with npower for both gas and electric and have been looking into switching. I am currently paying £58/m for gas (was £72 ealrier in year) and £42 electricity. I have just phoned them to request my annual consumption for both and after a very long winded phone call, was given 19221 for gas and 3996 for electricity. Only thing is i didn't check these are in kwh. Without having to go through the rigmarole of ringing them again, do these figures sound about right? From a quick look I think the electricity is a bit high, but gas is ok (just want some reassurance)

~I have been looking at the Eon Energy Saver 5 fixed rate. Using the above figures for my annual useage, it will only cost me about £4 more than what i am paying now to cap my prices until 07/2010. Does this sound like a fair deal? (it does to me, but i've never had to do this before so am a bit nervous about it!)

thanks

Paul

the average mate is 20000 gas and 3300 electric mate so your there or there abouts

energy saving light bulbs by the way ? :D
  • Don't compare what you will be paying on the capped product with the DDs you are currently paying as they may not be correct! Far more accurate to work out your actual cost of fuel now on your existing tariff and then compare that with the capped product, if you see what I mean. If this is actually what you have done to get to the £4 figure, apologies.

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • thanks for your replies...

i have been basing the comparisons on my consumption levels, rather than payments as it will be the most accurate (i think!!)

will just have to convince the wife that just because it's capped doesn't mean she can use at much as she wants :p
