Sky TV tips

Just a quickie..

1. You can setup sky tv to provide pictures in another room without buying the package from Murdoch! Simply go to Services - Systems Setup and press 01 and select. This accesses the hidden engineers menu. Then go to RF Outlets and select SWITCH ON.

You then need to run a cable from the rf outlet on the back of your box to the spare tv! Simple as that.

2. When buying the multiroom/Sky Plus package, the engineer will try to tell you that you need to pay £45 to have a phone line fitted in your bedroom. This is a lie - it's free for 10 metres and about £1 a metre beyond that.

3. You can pay £25 to have the multiroom without a phone line (Can you believe that?) or you can have the phone line fitted and disconnect it! There's nothing to stop you disconnecting the phone line.

Hope this is of use to somebody.

yes ,and they use YOUR old box for multiroom, get you to sign a new contract, charge £10 a month(fair enough if you need it)and THEY dont extend the warranty!!.
New customers get brand new equipment and a cheaper price.
Not very fair on their loyal customers
  • So, let me get this straight here....

If I have Sky+ downstairs, i can get multiroom upstairs to watch 2 different channels, in two different rooms for free?

I have an old normal Sky digi box, but no card for it - can this be used upstairs as the multiroom box?

Unless ive read this wrong - i dont understand.

    Thanks

    ML.
