Do estate agents have to offer a cooling off period after signing up to them?
I have recently signed to to a new estate agent after the previous agent withdrew from the market. After promising the moon on a stick I have heard nothing from them for over a week. They had promised to phone the next day to sort out photos etc.

Your agent isn`t in Wellingborough by any chance?
Think they have to give you 5 or 7 days, and when you want to cancel the contract, do it in writing. In my recent experience, some want you to sign a contract and some don`t...
I may be wrong, I`m sure someone who knows the score will help soon.0 -
I am an EA and there are no cooling off periods. Have you called them to point out what they promised and asked for an update?A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. They are in Warrington.
To be fair I have not contacted them yet, but they did go on at great length how much better they were than their rival EAs, and not keeping in contact in the early stages does not bode well.
They are more expensive than other agents and therefore I would expect a better service.
However I am only locked 12 week contact and do not desperately need to sell.0 -
