best yearly travel insurance?

Hi guys, im after the best yearly travel insurance (not winter sports coverage).

price is important - but quality of cover and ability to claim is also key.
Im travelling through alot of eastern europe and bits of south america and the USA over the next year and fully understand the need to get complete cover!

Is ryanair's travel insurance any good?

its cheap at 40 pounds - but i doubyt it has much substance.

anyone had any good experiences or good deals?

I've used the same company for several years : Primary Direct. (https://www.primarydirect.co.uk)

Have always purchased annual cover for European travel. Cover is pretty good, and cost is cheap; although, and I have never had need to make a claim, so cannot comment on good they are on that front. Unfortunately, you only REALLY get to know how good a company is when you actually make a claim.

Am about to renew, and their quote is £54.95 for a family of 5, annual insurance within Europe.

Will have a look around to see if I can get better value than this.

    Cheers,

  • £54.95 is very cheap for a family of 5.

However, i presume the cost you have to pay before you can claim will be over 300 quid?

anyhow, im tempting towards ryanairs 40 pound world wide.

Excesses are: £250 for personal liability and legal expenses, or £50 for pretty much anything else. Or, you can pay an extra £10 for an excess waiver.

The actual benefits sound good: £3,000 for cancellation/curtailment, £500 personal money, £,000 travel delay, £1,000 missed departure, £25,000 personal accident, £2 million personal liability, £50,000 legal expenses, £10 million medical treatment/repatriation.

Of course, it's the 'ease' of claiming that can't be quantified until you have need to make a claim.....

    Cheers,
    Don
