Hi Everyone
We have recently moved house, we have found that our house has very little roof insulation, and the combination boiler is very old with no timer or any realistic controls.
Details about us:
We live in Manchester
Neither of us are on any benefits.
We are both self employed.
We are both 30.
Does anyone have any suggestions on whether there are any grants available for either roof insulation or new boilers?
Many Thanks
Freddy

Contact your local council, they have grants available sometimes. We had cavity wall insulation done in 2000 and loft insulation done in 2005, all free
You have to be in receipt of benefits, we didn't think we'd qualify because we only get CTC but that counts. Bulletproof0 -
Electricity suppliers offer some good deals. I had my 5 bedroom house loft insulated 2 months ago for £99 via ScottishPower.
Had to get rid of the old stuff (and all traces of it) to qualify for the full amount though.0 -
The Energy Saving Trust has a grant search facility, click here. The Manchester council page is here. Good luck.
A long shot - the airport offers some grants, but I don't think it covers any of Manchester.
