New fire and bath advice

Okay when we moved into our terraced house some 14 years ago we got central heating in (Worcester combi boiler), new gas (coal effect fire, not inlay type) unfortunately the boiler looses pressure every day now and fire doesnt give much heat ( was a brilliant fire until recently) As for the bathroom suit its a Aqua colour with an old metal bath for large)
We want to replace gas fire but would like the type that insert into chimney but unsure if the heat will just go up into the roof. Been looking at Screwfix direct, Any views on the fire?
The bath is the main problem we want a plain white suit but rather than get rid of the bath I would prefer to keep it. Its Aqua colour and a few chips/rust marks, taps are utter rubbish. As the bath is so long you can lay full length about 6ft long, but unsure whether these kits you can get to repaint the bath are a good idea.
Any ideas Cheers

Maybe your fire just needs servicing?
We bought one of those big 'in the chimney type' fires from B&Q last year. It looks great, and visitors always comment on it. However most of the heat does go straight up the chimney as it needs a huge amount of ventilation to work. This also results in a lot of drafts coming down when it is windy. Ours is quite large, I think the ones in Screwfix are a lot smaller aren't they? I think the smaller ones are generally OK.0 -
Hi cheers for the advice.
TBH the fire is getting pretty old anyhow. The front is scratched with having a kids safety guard when they were little and have had a few parts replaced over the years. But I think its got to the stage where it would be either difficult or expensive to get parts now due to its age.
I think the fires on Screwfix have some that don't go back far inside the chimney and others that do.
