Thanks. Is one better than the other? Maplin says it has a memory function.

Sorry without finding their respective specs. I don't know, as I have one that was sold by Lidl - similar but different again.

Anyone know if the code is available in the papers on Sat and Sun as well? Also, it says that the token will be available until Sept 26th (clicky) Does anyone know if the token will be printed on the 26th as well? I got my first copy today so if it is not printed on the weekend and the 26th I'll be well short :o Possibly try and get some old copies

Definitely in today's (Saturday) paper (page 82) but don't know about tomorrow. Did not see last Sunday's paper so don't know if it is likely.

Anybody see in last Sunday's paper?

I think it is mainly to monitor usage patterns. If you notice the energy consumption still high in the night when you are asleep, you can investigate and shutdown those appliances (chargers, tvs, dvds, monitors, computers etc). People say that they notice a 25% drop in energy consumption by monitoring and simply turning off devices that are not required. I guess once you're happy with the setup you might not monitor it as much

    Hope this helps

Theres' been many a 'discussion' on here reagrding the pros and cons of these monitors. If you genuinely don't think you will benefit from one, even paying £2.92 and the cost of 8 Daily Mails will probably be a waste of money to you if you have no desire to change your current leccy usage.

We were using way too much leccy as a household (4 bed house with, mostly, 5 people in it). 6500 kwh last year! I bought one of these because I genuinely WANTED to get our leccy usage down. This monitor has helped US realise where we were wasting energy as a family (unlike the plug in monitor, which I also have, this monitor provides a visible readout of your leccy usage of the WHOLE HOUSE at any one time. This 'constantly in yer face' figure is the key to the monitor's usefulness IMO) and our usage this year will be no more than 5000 kwh. I would imagine for singletons living in a flat/bedsit who are very careful about their usage, these would be a waste of time/money...and some of these people have made their point very forceably on previous threads as to how rubbish they believe these monitors to be. :D
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • So whats the code then - it'll save us 30p for the call? lol

    :rotfl:
You have to make the phone call to leave your details and to reserve a monitor!
They then match your reservation with your order form.
:) If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours, :)

:) It wont cost you anything! :)

I got 3 vouchers now. If I buy paper from Monday to Friday I should have enough for both as I also have a BG account and have the account number and phone call number
  • When I try to phone the number nothing happens....no recorded message, no nothing....what does that mean? Have I left it too late to phone the 'special hotline'
