We enquired on a part ex for a David Wilson home...their website claimed they give 'fair market value' for your property.
Our house was on the market for 76k reduced from the original price of 92k when it first went on the market in May.
They phoned the agent who we were marketing our property with and asked them to give a price in which they felt would guarantee a sale in four weeks...they then sent out one agent who hardly even looked around.
They offered us 55k on the full asking value of theirs.
This was a less than a fornight ago...we sold stc on Monday for the full asking price! (fingers crossed it goes through)
Did I go back and make an offer on the house we wanted to part ex on?
Did I heck...I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole now!0 -

Sounds generous to me - the other houses may be on at between £6k and £10k more than yours, but it means you don't have the hassle of selling, and the other houses haven't even made those prices yet!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I have to say it sounds generous to me too, what sort of offer would you expect to accept if you put your house on the market for 111k-115k in the current market. My concern would be wether you were paying too much for the new house.0
