LLoyds TSB Shares

Looks like they picked up HBOS for a bargain price - don't know how long it will take for this to reflect in the share price though. But I would rather be a Lloyds TSB shareholder than an HBOS shareholder - the latter were worth £8 to £10 a share only a short time ago - quite a fall to the unconfirmed bid price of just over 2 quid!"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

but if you bought HBOS shares yesterday you would be getting a sweet deal no?0

Shares can go down as well as up.
Check out the LLOY 10 year share price graph.
Share price is just one part of it though. The bit that many people seem to forget is the dividend payout. Lloyds is a high yield dividend.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). True, well over 10% last time I checked and checking the history of the dividend shows a commitment going back years to pay this level to their share holders.
Hbos were going to give out shares, so thats a better deal allready I guess
I cant believe you predicted the merger like that dunston. I can remember posting about a shares buy out of them (not cash) but didnt think it was going down the next day or at all even0 -

Pay off the debt imho. Especially if you have no other investments etc.0

Lloy will be paying the 2008 dividend in shares & from 2009 onwards will be a completely new divi policy.
Since the Lloy yield was the best thing about the share this is horrible news.
This deal is looking worse & worse for Lloy holders IMO.
Am looking at Barc. In contrast their deal with Lehmans looks to be exceptional.0 -
Yes that is not good, they have broken their div record there. lloyds is falling and barc rising0

I hope that I am correct in saying that a dividend of 11.40pence per share is payable on 01-Oct-2008.
After reading previous posts is seems not.0
