British Gas 2010 Protection

A few years ago (2005) I was fortunate to freeze my Gas and Electric prices until 2010. I had to take a small rise in both Electric and Gas to subscribe to this and in fact I think one went down a little and the other went up.

I have no problems with my protection but my girlfriend has just found out that her Gas was protected and her Electric was not.

I think I received only one letter re this offer so think British Gas have made a mistake but not too sure if two seperate letters (one for Gas and one for Electric) were issued

Can anyone else remember?

Gas went up by 4.8% and electricity reduced by 2.8% as you indicated.

I got(and still have) a single letter, quoting both my gas and electricity account numbers, confirming I was on the 2010 tariff.

I also have another property with both gas and electricity and got exactly the same single letter.

Every time BG have a rise I get a single letter(again quoting gas and electricity account numbers) explaining that prices are having to rise. This is followed a few days later by another letter explaining that the rises don't apply to me and 'congratulating' me on having BG's cheapest tariff.
