Help shifting debts without new credit

Hi i am a unfortunate victim of my own stupidity and have in the past spent silly on credit cards. I am now seeing the light and no longer use any of my cards but would like some advice on how to best use my existing credit to make the debts cheaper. I am unwilling to apply for new credit as i have enough already!
Here are the cards i have with balance, limit and payment i can afford to pay at the moment.

Halifax visa, balance £1450 limit £1600 18.9% payment £45
Capital one, balance £1080 limit £1900 18.9% payment £45
Egg (account closed) balance £2120 limit £2250 19.9% payment £55
Alliance & leicester, balance £102 limit £1500 34.9%!! payment £35 (have heard you can get good b/t rates?)
Barclaycard platinum balance £920 limit £1700 14.9% (£210 @ 6.9% b/t rate) payment £30
HSBC mastercard balance £1940 limit £2000 21.9% payment £70
Halifax one, balance £0 limit £2200 0% 15 months
Halifax overdraft (no longer use account) £1130 18.9 % payment £10 weekly

any help with better organising these debts would be great as im sure there are ways i can use the credit i have avaliable to enable me to pay the cards off quicker and cost me less. I am ok with the payments i currently make but am not in a position to increase payments drastically.
Thanks again and what a great site!!

What you should be doing is allocating higher payments to the cards with the highest percentage rates. Namely the A&L card.
  • Suggest you also transfer the highest rate debt (HSBC) to the halifax 0% card and only pay the minimum whilst its on special rate - concentrating on clearing down some of the others. You will probably have to pay 3% to do it, but are saving the other 18%.

Aye i,d do what treading water says and on top of that move the A&L to barclaycard and then that will zero the A&l balance out, you then may get a good offer because the balance is 0 play hard to get and see if they will do it with out a BT Fee if they do move a chunk of the Egg debt over..
  • ok so try and pay the alliance and leicester card soon as, then would it be woth transfering my halifax o/d to that card if they do a b/t deal?
