At the risk of adding to the needless panic by the foolish, if the unthinkable happened and HBOS went bankrupt, would their Scottish Banknotes become worthless?

And if they become worthless for buying things, would they have an alternative use? Lagging the pipes? Kindling?

Are people in Glasgae pubs refusing them at this very moment, and insisting on Banknotes issued by RBS, Clydesdale, or even (heaven forbid) the BoE?

We were in malaysia and had travellers cheques and some cash Never thinking in the hotel change £50 Scottish note, Next day they came to us demanding there money back as nobody would take it from them despite a RBS bank not to far away.
