You were right Norman, best night out I have had in ages, can hardly speak now as quite hoarse from singing, screaming, shouting and laughing.
We were given a goody bag on the way in with cards to wave during different songs along with a party popper to let off when the Captain kissed Maria. Also a little white flower which we had to wave during the singing of Eidleweiss a la Westlife style as our host told us. Lots of people in costume some of which were very funny and also clever.
One of the winners was Crisp Apple Strudel which was a lady with a skirt covered in bags of crisps and the top half signified the apple strudel. A group came as so, la, tee, do etc and during that song they bobbed up and down when their note was sung.
We booed the baddies, hissed at the Baroness, cheered for Maria and everytime little Gretel spoke we said awwwwwwwwww bless.
Great fun, if you get the chance go and you can sing as loud as you like and still can't hear yourself.0 -

We were out riding today and my Mum was singing "The heeeels are alive.... with the sound of myooooooosic la la la la!"..... :rotfl: There was a man walking past us looking at her as if she was potty :rotfl: ...she is!Just run, run and keep on running!0 -

I went to see The Sound of Music at the Dominion, Tottenham Court Road, when I was seven when it first came out. It's been my favourite film ever since! Still makes me cry when the Captain sings Edelweiss with Lisle (spelling?).0

Remind me nearer the time and I'll pm you some of the costume ideas we saw ranging from "brown paper packages tied up with string" to "ray a drop of golden sun"
We were quite muted and dignified and wore black with big silver cardboard crosses0
