Can you have two current accounts?

Hi,
I have had a current account with Barclay's for years. To open a savings account with another provider that requires you to open a current account with them, would that be possible? I do not want to change from Barclay's though.

I've got 2 current acounts. State pension paid into one, works pension paid into the other one. I don't know if you have to have something paid in every month but I had no bother opening them." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Thank you. That's a good point, perhaps you do have to have a wage or something going in regularly.0

Yeah, I have 2 one for everyday spending and one for all my bills0

I think the reality is that you can have as many current accounts as you like, assuming prospective organisations are prepared to open an account for you after credit checks etc. But don't be surprised if one or more of them subsequently decide to close your account because there is insufficient 'profit-earning' activity to make it worth their while.

I have two. One with Halifax which is my general banking and salary account and one with Nationwide which I only load pre-holiday because of its benefits for using abroad.0
