unable to install Kasparsky

I am having trouble installing Kaspersky. Once the install is done and I am asked to restart the pc the pc will not restart. I get as far as the black windows page (with the blue progress bar thing that goes from left to right) and it stays here (I have left it 1 hour before turning the laptop off)

When I then restart in last known settings Kaspersky says that the computer security is at risk and I need to complete the instillation (back to square 1)

I have had a look on Kaspersky help site but am big-time stuck.

Anyone??

In order to fully uninstall the product:
    • Download the archive KAVremover9.zip
    • Unpack the file KAVremover9.exe from the archive
    • Run the file KAVremover9.exe
    • Enter the code from the picture
    • Click the Remove button
    then try a fresh install

have you tried starting it in safe mode? (hold f8 before windows starts)

then once in safe mode, uninstall it and see if it will boot normally. if it does, try installing kaspersky again (and make sure any other security software is uninstalled)
  • had AVG8 and after seeking help managed to remove it fully as Kaspersky wouldn't even start to install.

I will try to uninstall and reinstall and see where i get

  • Is this Kaspersky Antivirus or Kaspersky internet security, as I know the Antivirus used to conflict with certain makes of firewall (mcafee)

Did you uninstall your previous anti virus software before installing Kaspersky?

I have recently updated from Kaspersky Anti Virus 7 to K A-V 2009 and the software advised uninstalling my Spybot search and destroy before upgrading as KA-V was incompatible. All installed smoothly after that.
