Candy Bouquets

I've decided to make a candy bouquet for my Mum's birthday next month as she loves sweets sooo much. I've had a search around on the web and I like the idea of using possibly a gift bag or living vase as the base. I also like the look of each sweet being wrapped in coloured cellophane. So the next thing is deciding on what sweets!!!
So far i've narrowed it down to lovehearts, parma violets ( which i can twist tops to look like candles), drumstick lollies, chubba chupps and possibly liquorice lollies and pink chocolate hearts.
I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to arrange it to look like a bouquet i.e using oasis, florist sticks etc.:D:D:D
Oh and I like the idea of a pink/chocolate & lime colour scheme x

  • Sounds superb, have absolutely no advice to give you but please please please post piccies when finished!
  • Use some oasis in the bottom of the box so that it can't be seen, you can always use some tissue paper to cover the top afterwards. You should be able to trim the sticks to get all different lengths of sticks then if you are cello wrapping you could add the sticks to inside before cello wrapping then they should hold up enough and won't be seen if you place them at the back. Maybe add some marshmallows wrapped seperately to bulk it out a little more? I have seen a pic will have a look to find it and see if it is any good.

Nor mine, I tried to make one up a few weeks ago, have pics on the camera lol ... I decided to put it to one side and do it when I was in a better mood but at the moment it is still sat there half done.

  • They are lovely! So colourful.

We had sweetie centrepieces for our seaside wedding reception, as an alternative for flowers which the kids could take home after. I think the butterflies add a nice touch, like in the ones rusty posted above.

  • Thanks Rusty that is exactly what I was thinking of. I don't think it will be too complicated but need to make sure I have all the bits first. Funny thing I was thinking of adding butterflies too.
I think they are a lovely present for young and old:D:D
