Shady practice

I've seen loads of threads recently about things on amazon marketplace and the like, ridiculous discounts but they only last a couple of hours.

Maybe i'm being cynical but are these deliberately slashed, posted on here then hiked back up to full price once interest has been generated?

If so, I think the mods need to wield the axe.

Dont know @ the other links but I manged to nab one of the Terence Conran Royal Doulton dinner sets so it was genuine at least.

I know its frustrating to miss out on the bargains - I certainly did on all the other links!

I don't understand the bit about 'mods wield the axe'

The posts are put on here and are genuine Grabbits in the true sense of what this forum is all about. It's not the fault of whomever posts the grabbit that Amazon change the price quickly. The idea is to Grabbit whilst the price is good.

I had a huge delivery from Amazon this morning of items that have been discounted and then the price hiked back up after I placed my orders. It really is 'be quick or miss out'.

But I can't see that the mods need to do anything....I love the fact that people are generous and quick enough to share these finds. Keep 'em coming please.

PS...if I find any I will post as well:beer:

Edit: It really is a good idea to have one click payment turned on so you can get the order through double quick and beat any possible stock or price change issues.

Sorry - should have pointed out in my previous post - the bargains that are being posted on here recently are from Amazon.co.uk themselves and not Amazon marketplace - which although accessed through Amazon is not the same thing at all.

I don't think there is anything suspect happening - I have bought products off Amazon and then immediately wanted to post on here to alert others to a great deal and then the price has shot up - I think it is more about how Amazon work - I am guessing that some marketplace traders will have different prices, and possibly if there is a lot of activity on a particular item, the price alters also or once stock gets to a certain level.

Either way, I think if it stops being a good deal then the stock will not be bought as the OP will no longer be valid, so there is no problem really.

i am one of those people who post grabbits from Amazon.
they are never from the 'marketplace', (if you look)
they are directly from Amazon with free postage over £15.

you are wrong.

some people are never satisfied! you see a bargain and suddenly it is all conspiracy theories !!!

Er, isn''t the whole point of the grabbit board that anything posted is a discount that might only last a short time?

As others have pointed out, the recent posts about Amazon bargains have been genuine. They have also been actual Amazon stock, not amazon marketplace sellers. So there seems to be no evidence whatsoever for shady practice, and no need to suggest it...

I am quite new to grabbit while you can and the Amazon bargains were my first buys through this site. I bagged loads of stuff at knockdown prices and yes, they did shoot up afterwards but i was quick enough! Thanks again to all who post the Amazon deals!! :j

Amazon have always practised this, as soon as they get a flurry of buyers they put the price up, it is still worth watching the items as they sometimes come back down in price again.
