Tend to agree with previous poster. However a small garage servicing your car cheaply may miss corroded items (eg brake pipes) which would be an MOT failure.The resit fee in NI is around £18.
Not a surprise, since brake pipes would not be a service item in any case.
That's why we have the MOT, and why servicing is also important. It's not either/or.
If a garage, "servicing" your car failed to spot a rotten brake pipe and didn't suitably warned you, you need a new garage.
As DVSA is now pushing for more private LGV testing, the current number of GVTS will reduce, and no doubt NI government sites will go out the window too.
