I've yet to see a hard to use digital camera! Point, shoot and transfer pictures to PC. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

espresso ... have to disagree with that ... challenge anyone to look at the panasonic lumix manual and understand a page of it .... the choices of menus .. buttons to press etc .. certainly too much for me to cope with.0

I'm sure that there is a simple to use auto setting as well as all of the other options. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

My Fuji Finepix is the same, in that it has a massive user manual but... I've never read it.
I just leave the camera on "Auto", and the only buttons I use are zoom, shutter release, and occasionally the Macro (flower symbol) button for closeups.
You can ignore everything else in Auto mode.
One other thing: I never bother loading the software that comes with any camera - just access the card as a removal drive to copy photos onto the PC.0 -
Can't understand your problem, very happy with my Lumix TZ3.
Slide switch to on, select full auto (the red camera icon on the little wheel) and snap away.
Remove SD card, bung into computer and download to the viewer of your choice, I use Picasa 3 Beta.
There are of course many options you can set if you wish, but you will find these on most digital cameras
Fwor! beat me to it!!That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I have a Nikon coolpix 4100.
Excellent quality pictures and easy to use!0 -
I am looking at getting rid of my TZ3 only because it is slightly big in the pocket and want one slightly smaller. For a simple point and shoot I am very much tempted by the Polaroid M737t which is £49.99 for my 'night out' photos.
I am also looking at the Panasonic which has a 18x zoom (I forget the model number) for my 'pro' photos. I need one with a high zoom yet probably aren't advanced enough for dSLR0 -
Suprisingly, some of the lateet digital SLRs have really good automatic features, for the photo novices among us.
I have a Nikon D40, and the automatic setting is great, and the photo results are much better than any normal digital camera0 -
Depends on what you want to do. If you want to snap small creatures - like bees - or even flowers then you are going to need a maco (close up) lens. If that is not important look at the big names such Olympus, Sony, Fuji. They support cheap cards. Even if you just point-and-click normally there may be situations where you want to photograph in fading light or capture something like a horse landing in water -a bit of education/manual reading will bring its benefits.0

Nikon D40 is an excellent camera but slightly over the OP's budget.0
