None receipt of goods brought from ebay

Could someone help me please I have just paid nearly £600.00 to a person on ebay after checking his feedback which was 100%, paid by Paypal. This was a 2nd chance buy, but again I checked that it was through ebay which it was. It has now been 11 days and I have not heard a thing. Last Tuesday he said he was posting it and that he would send me a email with the proof of posting, he has not done so and I have heard nothing since. As an OAP I dont know how to go about things, I have emailed him again today asking when the goods will be received but nothing. What should I do next!!! This was for a present for a special anniversary for my husband and I have saved up for it for over a year now if I dont get it or my money back he will get nothing. I am so cross with myself for doing it.

You can open a claim for item not received, although £600 is outside the upper limit of protection. What was the actual feedback figure for the seller? Under 100 feedback or higher, have they sold high end goods before and if you check previous auctions is the style the same?

If you want to pm me the item number I'll take a look and see if anything looks 'wrong', I would not suggets putting the details on an open forum like this as it tracks back to you as well as your seller.

    Thank you,

I'll reply to your PM in detail but for the purpose of this thread I do have a few concerns. The seller has less than 50 feedback so only has the very basic paypal protection of 150 (look at the top RH of the auction page where it says 'buy safely'. Over half the feedback they have is as a buyer, the selling feedback is all for 'private' items and they also haveen't used the account since May. The photo also looks as though it is a stock one and not the actual item.

Personally I would go straight for a full paypal chargeback immediately and also get the sellers contact details and check them out and give them a call.

How did you fund the paypal payment?
